Welcome to the Second Edition of Bengal Art Talent Hunt & Jodhpur Art Camp 2011

The Bengal Art Talent Hunt 2011 will select 10 artists from Bengal who will take part in the 9 day sponsored art camp in Khaas Bagh Heritage Hotel,Jodhpur, Rajasthan from 4 -13 September 2011. Once again, all the 10 selected artists will be able to showcase their works to the leading art collectors of India, and have an unique experience of a life-time.

The Kolkata Exhibition of the Winners of Bengal Art Talent Hunt 2011 will be held at The Palladian Lounge ( Bengal Chamber of Commerce & Industry ) from 3-17 Dec 2011.

Tsering Gonpo ( Kalimpong/Dharamshala ) will attend the Jodhpur Art Camp, along with 10 Bengal Art Talent Hunt Winners, under a Special sponsored category for Tibetan Community.

Supriya Sarkar, 26 years, Ashokenagar, 24 Parganas, will display 2 sculptures
during the Kolkata Exhbition,with a special mention in the field of contemporary sculptures.

Application has Closed !!!

Application for The Bengal Art Talent Hunt 2011 & Jodhpur Art Camp 2011 has closed. There has been an overwhelming response from all over Bengal. We thank all the artists who have applied. It will be a challenging task to select the top 10. And the list of the short-listed artists, who will be called for the interview, will be announced on 10 May. Cheers !!!

The Great Opportunity Has Returned Again !!!

After the grand success of Bengal Art Talent Hunt & Jodhpur Art Camp 2010
Bodhi Tree Monastery of Art is privileged to present
Bengal Art Talent Hunt & Jodhpur Art Camp 2011.

Essential Details

I) Selected Artists will be paid for participation, as mentioned below.
II) To-and-fro travel (by train, AC 3 Tier), boarding and lodging(on shared basis) in one of the best Heritage Hotels of Jodhpur will be provided.
III) Vegetarian meals - breakfast, lunch and dinner is included.
IV) All art materials will be provided.
V) Each Artist will have to paint at least 3 finished works during the 9 day Art Camp.(oil/acrylic/water color/mixed medium, minimum size of each work - 3 sq ft approx & minimum total of 14 square feet for 3 works)
VI) The works will be gifted to our sponsor and art collector, at the end of the art camp.
VII) Extensive Press Release and Press Conferences will be held.
VIII) Selected Artists will have to attend press/promotional events.
IX) An exhibition of the works of the 10 winners, along with the 12 winners from last year, will be held in Kolkata from 3-17 December at The Palladian Lounge, The Bengal Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

Application & Selection Procedure

Age Limit is 21-35 years.
10 artists will be selected ( 3 places are reserved for women artists).
All artists who had applied last year (except for the 12 winners)can re-apply.
The Art camp will take place in Jodhpur,Rajasthan from 4-13 September 2011.

How to Apply

1. Initial application is to be sent through E-mail or by Post.
2. There is no application form - Application means an email or a covering letter along with 3 separate attachments/documents.
3. Three separate attachments/documents which are to be sent are - A)Recent Photograph of the artist B)Resume/Bio-data/Curriculum Vitae C)Photos of 5 recent works, with their sizes, medium and year of completion.
4. A confirmation will be sent after the application has been received.
5. Application and documents should be sent to bodhitree.monasteryofart@gmail.com / see address below.
6. Final date for receiving application is 30 April 2011.There are no application fees.

Artists will be selected from the initial application, and called for an interview, along with 3 original works.

The names of the short-listed artists will be announced in this website on 10 May 2011, and the interviews will be conducted on 13 & 14 May 2011.

The names of the 10 selected artists as the winners of The Bengal Talent Hunt 2011 will be announced on 17 May 2011.

The selection committee will include Santasree Chaudhuri (entrepreneur and women activist), Devdan Chaudhuri (owner , Bodhi Tree Monastery of Art) and Arnab Basu (Eminent Artist).

All 10 selected artists shall present one framed original painting to Bodhi Tree - Monastery of Art, which will become a property of the gallery ( There is no minimum size for the work and the artists will present the same as per their choice).

( Artists will be allowed to carry 1 finished painting with them, if they feel they won't be able to complete 3 paintings during the 9 day Jodhpur Art Camp 2011 )

All 10 selected artists will be presented with a remuneration of INR 11,000/- each, in Jodhpur, after the completion of the Art Camp.
